![]() "Storm"How long have I been in this storm? So overwhelmed by the ocean's shapeless form Water's getting harder to tread With these waves crashing over my head If I could just see you
And I will walk on water
I know you didn't bring me out here to drown
If I could just see you
And I will walk on water
And I will walk on water
Everything is all right
T "Storm" was written by a sixteen-year-old boy- man, actually- and it was a big hit for Blyss, Jason Wade's band before he became Lifehouse. The first thing that I noticed about "Storm" was the ferocity of its name, but the gentleness of the song itself. For the first minute or so, there isn't even any music- just Jason Wade singing!! And of course, he does an amazing, mind-blowing job. I can totally imagine the video for this song. One idea would be a man and a woman on a ship, in the midst of this never-ending hurricane. And there's so much craziness on the ship because everyone's so scared; because of the chaos, the two lovers had lost each other and are now searching frantically, hoping to find each other. They catch glimpses of each other and try to physically reach out to each other, but they never succeed. Meanwhile, Jason- who isn't the actor in the video- is alternately by their side (once by her side, once by his side). He might look a little transparent- not like a ghost, of course, just a drop of transparency, as if to say, "This isn't real. It can't be happening." He's invisible to the couple searching for each other, just watching them with sad eyes and singing. Everytime he sings, "If I could just see you," they catch a glimpse of each other, but then disappear back into the chaos. And then when he says, "Everything would be all right," it flashes back to beautiful times that they had together. Towards the end, they reach for each other and finally catch each other' hand. When he says, "Everything is all right," the rain stops. When he says it again, the sun is coming out and they're holding each other close.
